5 Female Street Artists Who Are Using Creativity to Change The World

Contemporary Canadian painter Michelle Hoogveld has worked on murals for clients in Canada, the U.S., Peru, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, and even England— talk about range.
She is inspired by color theory, connection, and matters of the heart. Her bold patterns and textile-styled color blocks create intricate imagery which connect human nature through representations of love.
Hoogveld is featured as a part of Pilgrim Soul’s Limited Edition Female Street Artist collection, designing her piece, “Paradise,” to visualize the creative soul of the dreamer for our Creative Awareness blend.

Abstract expressionist from Utah, Davia King, utilizes bright colors to capture a visual representation of creative energy. She frequently implements faces as a repeated pattern to represent humanity’s collective consciousness.
Beginning her artistic training at the ripe age of only 12, her murals can now be found on city streets from DTLA to Hollywood.
King created her design, “Evolved,” for our Creative Imagination blend. The piece represents humanity ascended, showing us all connected in our light of illumination once we are united.
Belgian born multimedia artist Caroline Geys focuses on the exploration of color, topography, geometry, nature’s phenomenons, architectural amalgamation, and optimism. Her works are inspired by colorful urban landscapes, patterns, op-art, and animal imagery.
In 2017, Geys ventured to start her own studio, Caroline Geys Design Studio. She’s worked with many public clients such as Dunn-Edwards Paints, ROW DTLA, Global Inheritance in association with Coachella Music Festival, and many more.
Geys is a featured artist who created her piece “Global Wash,” for our Creative Focus blend. The piece was inspired by the idea of a kinder, more peaceful world infused with color and light.
Panamanian artist Marisabel Bazan is best known for her colorful, organic artwork and public commissions. Working across mediums, Bazan’s art focuses on themes of mental-health, metamorphosis, and the human spirit, inspired by her own urban community.
Bazan’s work spans internationally in places such as Geneva, Panama City, Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Her butterfly-themes art installations and murals demonstrate her recognizable style as she continues her work and advocating for mental-health.
Bazan’s art is featured on our Creative Reflection blend, her piece titled “Confetto” utilizes her iconic butterfly motif to signify the delicacy of the natural world and its creatures.
Street artist Georgie Nakima studied Biology and Chemistry at Winston-Salem State University, which allowed her art to be influenced by gateways of nature and biological patterns. She credits her studies in nurturing her sense of wonder and creative exploration paired with research.
Nakima hopes to continue to plant seeds of art and science together, in effort to carry conversations of well-being, nature preservation, and humanity. She intends to inspire while connecting artistry with the real world, dedicating her work to healing.
