This Kinky Sex Test May Determine How Creative You Are

This Kinky Sex Test May Determine How Creative You Are.

I was speaking with a famous doctor friend about creative thinking, and she suggested I take a BDSM test as an indicator of my creativity. I found two things about that intriguing: 1) she was so open and cavalier about kinky sex, and 2) How is being kinky related to creativity? I mean, it makes sense; it involves some role-play, I suppose, which is certainly a creative act.

HERE IS THE BDSM TEST SHE SUGGESTED

In the wake of mainstream erotic novels like 50 Shades of Grey and TV shows like Euphoria, the dialogue about the private intricacies of our lives, particularly regarding kink and BDSM, has moved from whispers in secluded corners to a more open conversation. These once-taboo subjects are now being explored for their cultural implications and their psychological and creative impact.

One pioneering study from the "Psychology of Consciousness: Theory, Research, and Practice" delved into the consciousness states during BDSM activities, suggesting a correlation with enhanced creativity. The participants, who were self-identified "switches,"(people who vaccilate between dominant and submissive roles) displayed significant psychological changes post-engagement, akin to what is described in psychology as "flow." This state, characterized by a focused immersion and diminished sense of self-consciousness, is often associated with peak creativity.

Specifically, these people experienced what is known as transient hypofrontality – a temporary slowing of the prefrontal cortex that governs our concept of time and self. This state can be likened to the mental 'runner's high,' a release from the typical constraints of our constant self-monitoring and time management. In contrast, "tops" reported a heightened sense of control and a loss of self-consciousness, which is conducive to creative thinking. By tapping into these altered states, there's an implication that individuals can unlock a different level of cognitive function, potentially leading to higher creativity levels.

Another study in the "Journal of Sexual Medicine" supports these findings, suggesting that individuals who engage in BDSM might be more psychologically adjusted than those who shy away from these experiences. This suggests that far from being harmful, these practices could offer therapeutic benefits, including enhanced mental well-being and creative thought.

Self Expression

But the relationship between our intimate experiences and creativity stretches beyond studies into the realm of personal healing and expression. For many, the journey to embrace their inner vitality is a path to reclaiming a creative force that may have been stifled by societal expectations or personal traumas.

In the quest to reclaim the interconnectedness of sensuality and creativity, experts and laypeople alike find that expressing oneself without inhibition or fear of judgment is a way to awaken a dormant creative force. The act of embracing one's desires can lead to a life lived more richly, with a deeper connection to the creative energies that propel us forward.

Creative Collaboration

Moreover, these experiences are not just personal but are deeply intertwined with how we interact with the world. When we are in touch with our creative energies, we tend to attract relationships and opportunities that resonate with this newfound vibrancy. Creativity is not a solitary affair – it influences and is influenced by our interactions, relationships, and the openness with which we approach the world.

Thus, the conversation shifts from whether these private explorations are acceptable to understanding how they can be integral to our overall well-being and creative lives. It becomes less about the acts themselves and more about the psychological liberation and subsequent flow of creativity they can usher in.

While these topics may still be shrouded in societal hesitation, the exploration of our private worlds and letting go of judgment has the potential to unlock a well of creativity. As we continue to understand the psychological impacts of such experiences, we might find ourselves not on the fringes of societal norms but at the forefront of a new understanding of the creative mind.
