Creative Focus
WORD LINKS
Exercise: Connect the word on the left side of the page with its same-row word on the right side of the page by using four or five words in between to link them. Have each word build a bridge with a logical connection to the next. You should end up with a set of word links that get you from the first word to the last word in some obvious or surprising logic.
Why: It isn’t easy to think unpredictably by looking in one direction. When your attention is focused on a single subject, limited and predictable patterns will dominate your thinking. By forcing relationships with things that are not related, different and unusual patterns are activated, which can be an invaluable exercise in creative focus.
Enhances Creative Focus which includes deep thinking, focus, pattern recognition, and creative problem-solving.
Example:
BUTTERFLY Bee Honey Sugar Carbohydrate Wheat PIZZA
